Here is another Dementia Cafe activity. Hope your group likes it - please do let me know in the 'comments' section below. I've not been getting much feedback lately, which is a little disheartening.

Also, if you like and use my work in your CST practice, you can buy me a coffee at www.ko-fi.com/simondementia This helps cover costs to keep this a free and open access CST activities resource.

First round: ANIMAL PROVERBS

Ask members to guess at the animals related proverb by looking closely at the pictures.

You could also discuss their meaning as you work through them.

Here are the answers for Round 1. If members get stuck you could read the first part of the proverb and they could complete it by way of a shout out ...

Like a bear with a SORE HEAD

It's raining CATS AND DOGS

Like the cat THAT GOT THE CREAM

The early bird CATCHES THE WORM

Like a wolf in SHEEP'S CLOTHING

Ants in YOUR PANTS

Like a fish OUT OF WATER

A bird in the hand is worth TWO IN THE BUSH

Like a bull in a CHINA SHOP

Kill two birds with ONE STONE

You can't teach an old dog NEW TRICKS

Birds of a feather FLOCK TOGETHER

Curiosity killed THE CAT

A dog is a man's BEST FRIEND

While the cat's away the MICE WILL PLAY

Pigs might FLY

Counting SHEEP

Don't count your chickens BEFORE THEY HATCH

A leopard never CHANGES IT'S SPOTS

You can lead a horse to water BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE IT DRINK

Who let the cat OUT OF THE BAG?

Zebra CROSSING

The straw that broke THE CAMEL'S BACK

Softly softly catchee MONKEY

Those who sleep with dogs RISE WITH FLEAS

Never look a gift horse IN THE MOUTH

Why keep a dog and BARK YOURSELF

If you pay peanuts YOU GET MONKEYS

Don't bite the hand THAT FEEDS YOU

Don't put the cart BEFORE THE HORSE

Song break ...
