Blackpool Illuminations, Seaside Memories and Entertainment

Welcome to my Blackpool-themed CST activities - a colourful celebration of one of Britain’s best-loved seaside resorts.

Blackpool has been creating happy holiday memories for generations. From its famous Tower, three piers and Pleasure Beach to the dazzling Illuminations, Tower Ballroom and mighty Wurlitzer organ, there is plenty to inspire conversation, reminiscence and laughter.

The activities include fascinating Blackpool facts, picture quizzes featuring famous northern entertainers and Illuminations switch-on stars, familiar songs played on the Wurlitzer and memories of Coronation Street visiting the resort. We will also recall Blackpool’s spectacular roller coasters, explore its piers and attractions, and revisit memorable Strictly Come Dancing performances from the Tower Ballroom.

Use the questions to encourage everyone to share their own memories. Did you visit Blackpool as a child? Where did you stay? Did you ride a tram, walk along the piers, see the Illuminations or dance in the Tower Ballroom? What sights, sounds and smells do you remember most clearly?

There are no prizes and no pressure - the important things are taking part, enjoying one another’s company and discovering where the conversation leads.
