Released in 1986, Walk Like an Egyptian became a worldwide No.1 hit for The Bangles. The song was inspired by drawings of ancient Egyptian figures, whose side-on poses made it look as though they were all walking in the same distinctive way. Its catchy chorus and memorable dance made it one of the biggest songs of the 1980s—and it's still guaranteed to get people smiling and joining in today.
