🧸 Welcome to Simon's CST Activities – Teddy Bears' Picnic Day 🧸

Today's session celebrates the much-loved teddy bear and our fascination with bears of every kind.

Together we'll enjoy a mixture of reminiscence, music, quizzes, fascinating facts and plenty of smiles.

We'll discover how US President Theodore Roosevelt inspired the creation of the teddy bear, learn about the most expensive teddy bear ever sold, and enjoy the classic "Teddy Bears' Picnic" performed by Henry Hall & His Orchestra.

There are some wonderful memory challenges too, including naming different species of bears, recognising famous fictional bears, identifying TV programmes featuring bears, and spotting well-known people associated with bears.

We'll also enjoy a hilarious clip from Laurel & Hardy's Pack Up Your Troubles, where Stan's friend's daughter tells him a very unusual version of the Goldilocks story, revisit the heart-warming moment HM Queen Elizabeth II met Paddington Bear during her Platinum Jubilee, and watch the amazing sun bear whose remarkably human-like behaviour had many people believing what they were seeing couldn't possibly be real.

To round off the session, we'll sing along to some bear-themed favourites including "The Bare Necessities", "The Wombling Song", and Elvis Presley's "Teddy Bear."

So, grab your favourite teddy if you still have one, settle back, and let's enjoy a bear-y wonderful day together!
