🌍 World Heritage Day – April 18

World Heritage Day celebrates the world’s most important cultural and natural places - sites that are protected so future generations can enjoy them. From ancient wonders like the pyramids to famous landmarks like the Houses of Parliament in London, these places help tell the story of our shared history.

Today is a chance to explore the world together, spark memories of places we’ve visited, and discover new destinations through conversation, images, and music.

🎵 CST Song Of The Day - “Waterloo Sunset” – The Kinks

A classic British song, Waterloo Sunset paints a beautiful picture of London life along the River Thames, with views of iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Its gentle melody and vivid imagery make it perfect for reminiscence and discussion.

🎯 Activity - Match the Song to the World Heritage Site

Listen to each song and look at the images of famous places. Can you match the music to the correct location?

  • Which place does the song remind you of?

  • Have you ever visited somewhere like this?

  • What memories does the song bring back?

  • List other World Heritage Sites & link songs to them?

đź’ˇ Simple closing line

“Let’s travel around the world through music and see how many places we can recognise.”
