World Meteorological Day (March 23) celebrates the vital work of meteorologists and weather organisations around the world. It marks the founding of the World Meteorological Organisation in 1950 and highlights how weather and climate science help protect lives, support agriculture, and improve our understanding of a changing planet. From forecasting storms to tracking climate trends, it’s a day to appreciate the science behind the skies we often take for granted.

CST Song of the Day – Singin’ in the Rain, Gene Kelly

What better way to mark the day than with a classic? Singin’ in the Rain by Gene Kelly is one of the most joyful songs ever put to film, capturing pure optimism in the face of gloomy weather. From the iconic 1952 movie scene - Kelly splashing through puddles with a grin - to its timeless melody, it reminds us that even rainy days can feel like sunshine with the right attitude. A perfect, uplifting choice to celebrate all things weather-related.
